WARNING:  The South Hill Brass exists, first and foremost, for the enjoyment of its members.  We have a good time, and, while we hope the audience enjoys our music, we find that they rarely enjoy our jokes--at least, not half as much as we do (although I must admit that even we don't get all of our jokes...).
The Un-Authorized Official
South Hill Brass Home Page
The South Hill Brass is a brass quintet performing music in and around Burlington, a small city in southeast Iowa, located on the banks of the Mississippi River.
    This home page is un-authorized
because a brass quintet has
five members, and I am but one -- this site is prepared without the consent or even knowledge of the others.
This page is Official because I am, after all, a member.

The Un-Authorized Official South Hill Brass Home Page will continue to evolve.  My personal apologies for anything you encounter here!        --TGB

But wait!  There's more!                    Check out our ...
For those who desire to leave a record of their visit to the Un-Authorized Official South Hill Brass Home Page, we now offer a "Guest Book" (on a trial basis).  Unlike many sites that practically BEG you to sign, we ask that you "sign in" ONLY if you specifically WANT to.
If you click on "sign in", the time (USA Pacific time) and date will be recorded automatically.  You will be asked several intrusive questions, including your name, and given an opportunity to type any comments.  You can always leave these spaces blank.  Anything you DO type will be view-able by most visitors to this site.  Furthermore, leaving an accurate e-mail address will result in a clickable link, making it alarmingly easy for others to e-mail you.
As far as your name goes, feel free to leave aliases, screen names, nicknames, partial names (first or last names), or your full name, but please do not actually lie.  The same goes for your e-mail address;  please either submit your correct e-mail address, or leave it blank.  Thank you for your cooperation.

(The definitive history of the South Hill Brass.)
(A not-so-definitive look at the five musicians who ARE the South Hill Brass.)
( A brief description of the South Hill Brass repertoire, including a sample program.)
(The most accurate, up-to-date information available on any scheduled performances of the South Hill Brass.)
(Presents only three of the myriad ways to contact the South Hill Brass.)
(Since September 29, 1998.  Possibly the first brass quintet with its own chat room.)
Repeat visitors to this site, or those who have experienced a live South Hill Brass performance, may realize that we occasionally offer MORE than music.  (I like to think of the South Hill Brass as more of a "way of life" than a music group.)  Persons wishing to limit themselves to topics closely related to brass quintet music are advised to skip ahead to the "Guest Book" section.
(Significant military battles NOT directly involving the South Hill Brass.)
Apparently visitors using certain browser programs, especially Netscape 3, may be unable to access the South Hill Brass guest book.  We apologize, and still greatly appreciate your visit!
(A brief introduction to the sixteenth-century painter.)
(For those with time to kill, wondering about official South Hill Brass merchandise.)

{Please be advised that this dinosaur logo is a clickable "link" that will take you to an opportunity to sign up for a Homestead web site ... this is TRUE shameless commercialism.  You have been warned.}  {Homestead is a GREAT service and I highly recommend them ... but you have a right to know when you are clicking on something shamelessly commercial rather than interesting or fun!}
